I stated this on my Twitter yesterday and I will say it here again, I feel like I own an apology to Flat Escardos , I wasn’t aware he had that dawg in him! 💀
For real tho at the beginning of the Fate/Strange Fake anime I thought Flat was just a goofy, spongebob squarepants type character, but after watching this week’s episode and reading about his abilities I think he is one of the best if not the best contender to win the Holy Grail War if he locks in all the way! That’s how much of a prodigy this dude is! 🔥

Flat is a genius believe it or not.
Flat is a monster when he wants to be. He can be extremely dangerous and has very impressive skills as a magus where he can even keep up with full fledged experienced mages, even Zepia. Even Van Fem sees him as an investment with a lot of potential.
What kind of lore Flat can possibly have to effortlessly be able to completely beat Orlando so easily

Flat Escardos is a prodigy that doesn't come often. An idiot savant with exceptional magical talent, but zero common sense. An individual who constantly toes the line between becoming a archmagus of the clock tower (A high-ranking mage) or a Sealing Designation held in Baldanders (A Keter-class SCP)
Waver spends more time teaching Flat Escardos common sense, rather than actual magecraft.
And canonically, we know that Flat will not die in Fate Strange Fake, because his own personal story still hasn't concluded in Case Files.
Flat's accomplishments:
Recreating another mage's spellcraft, after only seeing it once. Which is thought impossible if you understand how Magic Crests function in TypeMoon lore.
Reverse-Engineering and disabling a spell. In an instant. Before the enemy mage even finished his incantations.
Performing a complex ritual that involves 12 mages by himself. Meaning he has the magic circuits to rival that of 12 magi.
Summoning a servant without a ritual and without a catalyst. Which is considerably difficult but not impossible, since Shirou did the same with a catalyst.
Don't forget that Waver is the only reason Flat doesn't become a target for the Counter Force in these timelines
His potential is recognized by people like Van-Fem (#14 of the Dead Apostle Ancestors) and Zelretch
I mean he is indeed waver ace in the class
