As bleak as the ending is, my personal takeaway is that even though the cycle of violence and hatred will always continue, a notion repeated by Erwin and Pyxis, we have to try our best to not perpetuate it and if we can’t we have to keep trying regardless of what the outcome may be. Because like Niccolo said there’s a devil in all of us. We’re all capable of hate and violence. So what do we do? We escape the forest and even if we can’t we keep trying.And that's exactly what the scouts were trying to do. Because they actually had a hand in furthering the Rumbling by helping Eren get to Zeke. Aot has always been about making choices that one thinks they will regret the least and they just didn’t want to regret not stopping an omnicide. The scouts represent what the Survey Corps and what, I hope, we all stand for: fighting against insurmountable odds for even the slightest chance of an unrealistic idealist world. Thank you Isayama for creating this masterpiece ❤

The finale, crazy enough, explained what the dinosaurs and whales from opening 2 were. They were the previous generations of the Beast Titan.

The dinosaur, whale, etc are probably previous versions of the Beast Titan that we didn't get to see. I was hoping they would at least show the dinosaur at the end game, since the whale was probably only useful at sea.

I just had a thought: what happened to Hitch?
I know it's likely not happening on the channel, but if you guys truly wanna compare the sub to the dub, give it a rewatch. the re-experience into the world via the dub does clarify alot of subtle details that the sub doesn't (purposefully).
however if not a full reaction to the dub episodes, I highly recommend the classic scenes. Eren's mom dying, Eren's first transformation scene, Erwin's final speech, Hannes, Miche, and Levi Squad death scenes, Kenny's intro scene, all 3 Levi vs Zeke fights, Levi's No Regrets OVA, Ymir's Jaw intro, the Betrayal scene, the entire To You From 2000 Years Ago episode in S4, and Eren starting the rumbling in the S4 anime finale. I believe the last special finally got dubbed too so that I'd recommend watching as well. the dub for the most part is phenomenal imo.
I wouldn't like a "magic fix" bringing the 80% of humanity back to life, I feel like the lesson about humanity's repeating stupidity wouldn't land that hard in this way, it would feel like a fairytale. This all has so much in common with such horrible events irl like Holocaust, not to mention current conflicts, we all know there is no magic cure as much as we wish the hatred would finally stop – but the world was always like this, periods of peace and war, it's a never ending cycle. Eren's dream was never possible to achieve, it was like dreaming about living in Heaven. Now he waits in Hell.
The lesson here is to find your own happiness and freedom despite of all the hell that is going around. Not to fight with this hell at absolutely all costs.
Aot ending is perfectly ended imo. I don’t think i have found any other anime who has the end of it's entire show. Just like an animes with a long episode has become a long journey and i couldn't imagined it ended but it has ended significantly. I felt emotional, happy, sad.. that it ended and some type of feelings mixed in altogether i think it's beautiful.

So i dont know if im looking to much into this but in aot time i think mikasa and eren knew each other for roughly 10 years the same amount of time that the anime aired for give or take a month or 2.

I really wish you guys will react to the new op/ending for the episodic version of the finalle! Also, full version of "Under the tree" was relesed recently and its amazing too, some parts hit much different after the finalle came out! Also you might want to relisten the ending song of the finalle, its text is really interesting (also real voices of Eren and Micase sang there!!)
