As this is a Haru Yuuki episode, just a bit more background info on Haru.
She's a real tomboy because of her brothers and the boys she hangs out with. It's also why she likes football and doesn't mind getting rough with the boys.
The reason she became an idol is because her family wanted her to be more girlish and forced her to join.
6:51 – Shiki isn't joking with that threat. Shiki's an actual mad scientist, her father is a well renown chemist and works overseas often. Her mother though is shrouded in mystery but at the same time it's hinted that the family dynamics are rather strained. There's more to it but that's something you can explorer if you are interested. She has a good sense of smell so she makes a lot of perfumes and incense in her spare time.
9:10 – Eh, you aren't wrong, but it's still surface level character writing every idolm@ster anime provides. Even with U149 anime, you only scrape the surface of the idol's personality. If you really want to delve into their characters more, you'll have to read up the commus from the games, or look into the various manga adaptations the idolm@ster has.
13:06 – LiPPS! I'm actually happy that LiPPS were animated for this anime.

Some production trivia about this episode:
Storyboarded and directed by Eri Irei, a young korean animator turned director (he even moved to japan around 2019). He is a huge fan of the idolmaster (of the anime in particular) since he was a school student and it became his dream to work on the franchise and direct an episode, so this is where he fulfilled his dream! He is active on social media and he commented a lot after this episode aired. This episode is indeed very well animated and is ambitious on a technical level, however he was dissatisfied with the animation quality due to the tight production schedule (this episode got some BD retouches by the way, but nowhere near as extensive as in Cinderella #13). Nevertheless he was still happy and it was such a benchmark for his career that he even changed his name (Eri Irei is not his real name but an alias he always used when working on anime, it was the name he used when playing the idolmaster games). He now works mainly for studio ENISHIYA, who are the ones behind Takopi so there are chances that we get an episode by him there…if it happens I'll tell you in the respective video 😉
