      I don't know why Asa blames her mother for dying. She was sitting in a parked car, and a truck crushed into it. It'as not like she ran in front of it, and asked to be isekaid into a fantasy land… But also, she is a kid who is grieving, and that changes a lot of things.

      As much as I agree that Asa's comment about 'her mom's death being her own fault' is harsh and a dumb thing to say by a dumb teenager, I also think it's mixed with Asa going through the 5 stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance). I think she is in a mixed stage of denial and anger right now, talking like her parents are still alive and blaming them for their own death. Another common thing is that people prefer to show/feel anger to hide sadness.

      Yeah, Asa's statement about her mother is dumb, but at the same time she's feeling abandoned, and so, from a certain perspective it makes sense. She's just so confused, poor thing. A mess. And Makio is not giving her what she thinks she needs. God, this show is so good.

      I feel like Asa’s comments are not coming from a place of rational thinking, like if she sat down and thought about it of course it wasn’t her mom’s fault that she got killed. But because grief is such a hard thing to process on top of being young, she is having these crazy intense emotions and doesn’t know how to express them, she feels angry and she’s not sure why but it has to be directed somewhere and so it goes towards the only people she feels like she can be angry at. On a deeper level she is lonely and empty and doesn’t know how to deal with that and so those emotions turn into frustration and right now they are being released in the wrong direction. It’s something she will need to work through but is also a natural part of the grieving process.
