To make it more simple Gil had 2 keys. First is the main keys that he used to summon Ea, its always with him and its the higher authority ones capable of unlocking everything. While the key that Ishtar found and used is the spare key used as catalyst in episode 0 by the mage that summoned Gil originally & he later threw away after the mages died, it cant unlock GoB fully but it act as the front key to his gates.

Hence closing it at the right moments is Crucial, since Gil can just reopen it again with the main key if he is given time to regain his footing, which Ishtar ofc didnt let him have by doing a combo with True Berserker Scream that has been boosted by her as well to actually have an effect on Gil

Well, if you want a depowered Gill forced to work with the bunch of misfit to defeat the big bad, it's already there, it's Fate Extra CCC if you chose the Gilgamesh road… ^_-

Yeah, they skipped like 4 fights, we are rushing a lot of developments. I really don't like that this adaptation is only 26 episodes. Maybe if every episode was 1 hour long.

Gil's key was in Episode 0

15:31 Ishtar taking the key is only partially off screen. Her physically going to take it isn't shown, but in episode 0 we see Gil throw the key aside and leave it behind in the cave after his summoning. So to dome extent it was foreshadowed.

Episode 10 is easily the worst episode of anime as an adaptation.You can kinda already see them cutting some corners by not adapting the second half of Richard's fight with Gilgamesh where he spams 20 Excaliburs in a row on top of the church and No name assassin not using her Zabania:unfeeling patrolling spirit's whitch summon's a lot of Jinnīya that takes forms of a lot of beast's and other mythological creatures,but instead they decited to show him getting shot by Sigma in the head whitch should not even work since he passively denies human creations….plus there's a lot of things that got changed like John appearing only at the very end and they didn't even explained how he survived,Gill dying without fighting back and honestly many more….at least remaining episodes are much better than that..

If you go back to when Gil was summoned and he threw away the key he says no man will be able to use it. But Ishtar isn’t a man in any sense of the word, sex or mortality.

To be clear, the one who healed/revived/buffed john was Dumas, using the same NP he used to save Flat

Just to clarify what exactly dumas did, since the anime just brushes past it pretty quickly:

first, he rewrote John back into being alive due to their connection via John’s noble phantasm arm, which likened John to a protagonist that could thus be physically manipulated to rise from the dead.

Second, he rewrote a bit of Jack’s legend that allowed Jack the new ability to turn into Flat and use some degree of Magecraft, distracting Alcides. Then, flat had to get in close range of alcides and used his command spell to destroy his servant’s saint graph. Since reincarnation pandora stole jack’s from hell via directly grafting on a portion of jack’s saint graph, this command spell, which was like telling his servant’s to commit suicide, was able to really injure alcides, and only worked since bazdillot used up all his command spells and thus had no connection to alcides anymore.

As a side note, the reasoning behind these powers including the creation of fake noble phantasms is because his life and writing were surrounded by controversies, allegations of plagiarism , and lawsuits, allowing him to edit and overwrite information and magecraft in real time.

But the real threat was John with the hydra venom in his arm, the same thing that made Heracles and Chiron commit suicide. The anime doesn’t say it in this season, but alcides had to use part of his king’s order NP in the form of a one time resurrection he got from Chiron, and still he said that the poison would drive him mad in 3-4 days and that his time was running out

Also an important moment the episode missed, when true berserker manifested, it let out a scream of resentment so loud that the entire area stopped for a moment, which scared the shit out of gil and caused jester to realize he wasn’t gonna get enough time to fuck around anymore with “it” on the field, which is why he triggered tsubaki’s rider to take everyone in.

24:21 the Adaptation is Rushed right after the Starting 4 episodes. They cut alot of content. FOR SOME REASON the servant who has a MASSIVE VENDETTA TO ACHILLES is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.

Surely the Episode 4 Horse Animation Budget for Hippolita already used up 80% budget of the whole Show.

AND GILGAMESH DEATH wouldve been a GREAT FINALE Cliffhangger.
